Archives
For the more recent history of LSAS (ie. anything that has appeared on this website). Including past winners of trophies and a few old photos from presentation nights.
The Lowestoft Sea Angling Society (LSAS) has been around for a very long time. The earliest records we have in our 'Society History' date back to 1907, which means a centenary party is not far away! We may have already missed it, it's possible the Society may have been running before this. Either way, there is a lot of history associated with the Society, some of which has been gathered in the form of Committee meeting notes, match results, photos, newspaper clippings etc. to make up the 'Society History'. Some of this is now located here. A complete hard copy is available to members to borrow, should they wish to read from a page rather than a screen.
The current Committee meet on the second Wednesday of each month. They draw up the fixture lists for both the sea anglers and freshwater side, as well as organising social events for members. Then there are the Open matches to consider, and Pontins Week involves a lot of voluntary work.
A Prize Presentation takes place every May, and as you will see from the list of trophies, our Cup Custodian has his work cut out getting them all back and engraved.
