Club Rules
- The club shall be called the Lowestoft Sea Angling Society.
- Annual subscriptions are as agreed at the annual general meeting. Junior members may not take part in managing the club. No person will be allowed to fish until their subscriptions are paid. Membership to be confirmed at next Committee meeting.
- No match will be fished with less than three members present.
- Each competitior will be allowed to use only one rod and line with not more than three hooks. Casting poles and artificially propelled casting devices and techniques are banned. A competitor attending to a second rod will be disqualified. The Winter season begins on the 1st October and ends on the 31st March.
- Only fish to current Ministry size limits may be weighed in. Fish may be kept in water when caught so that small fish may be returned to the sea. Weavers will not count in any matches.
- The Committee reserves the right to alter or cancel any matches. Competitors will be notified in advance if possible.
- No competitor shall begin to fish before the signal to start, and at the second signal must cease fishing. A competitor may practice cast into the water without hooks or bait up to five minutes before the start of the match. A competitor may have more than one baited trace on the beach.
- Any fish hooked by more than one angler and/or caught on lost traces will be disqualified.
- All match postions will be decided by a draw but will not be pegged. The limits will be decided on the night by the Match Secretary as agreed by the Committee. Anglers widhing to fish as a pair will only draw one number and walk off together. Those needing a close peg for medical reasons must ask the Match Secretary prior to the draw taking place.
- Each member taking part in the club matches shall have a bag/container to contain his/her fish, and shall be responsible for the weighing-in of their own catch. If a fish is considered undersize by the scalesman when brought to the scales, only the competitor can request the fish be remeasured. The scalesman's decision is final.
- The decision of the Committee shall be final in respect of any dispute at club matches.
- No match to be cancelled at the venue without a majority decision of all Committee members present at the draw, the Match Secretary will hold the casting vote.
- The Committee has the right to suspend the membership of anyone who persistently causes trouble within club members. Te offending person to have a chance to state his/her behaviour to the Committee.
- The club will only cancel club matches for the Lowestoft Festival, and team events when necessary.
- Committee meetings will be held every month.
