The Freshwater section of the Lowestoft Sea Anglers fishes during the warmer months of the year, from May to September. Matches are held on various local lakes and rivers, to try and give variety from catching carp every week! There is usually a 15 peg limit for the matches, although most of the venues have room for more if needed. The fishing is not too competitive, with plenty of banter on the bank (see match reports!). New members are welcome to come and show us (well, some of us) how to fish.
The Pontins Fishing Week in September is dominated by the Freshwater side, and help is always needed in officiating the matches. With the matches held on venues the Sea Anglers fish, it can be advantageous to fish the Sea Angler matches if you are interested in helping on Pontins Week. There's always time to wet a line yourself while officiating, so it's well worth doing! See Pontins Week for more information.
