Christmas Meal

A Christmas meal is being held on Thursday 10th December at the Masonic Hall. It is open to any member and guest. The cost is £15 per person. The menu is as follows:

Vegetable Soup
Prawn Cocktail
Mushroom with Garlic
Melon with Raspberry Coulee

Turkey or Rib Beef with Potatoes and Vegetables
Vegetarian Lasagne

Christmas Pudding with Custard
Peach Melba
Cheese and Biscuits

Bass To Beat

A photo has been sent in by former member Phil Austin, who wanted to know if his 8lb 2oz bass is still the biggest to be caught in an LSAS match. We believe it is, so it is something to aim for!

Casting Competition

Only two members and two guest took part in the casting competition. They couldn't even have a cup of tea. The longest cast by a member went to Lee Sherwood, who recorded 243 yards. Closest to the centre line was Wayne Perring, 6 inches at 218 yards.

Casting Competition

Sunday 20th September is the date for the casting competition. Meet in Oulton Broad at 8.00am.

Orford Trip

The boat is booked for 8.00am on Saturday 10th October, returning 4.30pm from the island. To book a place contact a Stan.

Bowling

A different twenty-one were present for the second bowling evening of the year. This time Trevor took the honours with a score of 305 over two games.

Ten-Pin Bowling

Potters has been booked for Friday 20th November. Two games and a buffet will set you back £15. The bowling starts at 7.30pm and is limited to 36 people. Guests are welcome, contact the Secretary to book places.

Brian "Brusher" Brown

Another of our longest-serving members, Brian Brown, passed away on the 26th March aged 73. He was an annual helper at Pontins Week from the first year it was run. He was also involved with the UKSF, measuring and recording casts. The funeral service will be held at St. Michael's Church, Hockering on Wednesday 22nd April at 11am.

Bowling

Twenty-one were present for the first bowling evening of the year. Chris came out on top with a total of 313 over two games.

Ten-pin bowling is booked for Saturday 21st March at Potters. Places are filling up quick so get your names down!

Orford Trip

Saturday 4th April is the date for the next trip to Orford. The boat leaves at 8am. To book a place on the boat speak to Stan.

AGM

The AGM is on Wednesday 25th March at the Yacht Club. Any items for discussion should be sent in writing to the Secretary before Wednesday 11th March.
